"The Other Side" is choreographer Stephanie Orza's latest work to be premiered by Inland Pacific Ballet. Inspired by a strong emotional response to a memorial sculpture, the movements and formations in Orza's latest work go beyond the figures in the sculpture to explore the path from this earth to the other side. "The beauty and deep sadness of the memorial hit me hard as a child and have stayed with me, but it is the battle that the soul may have to go through to get to the other side that I am most interested in revealing." in this elegant, historic theater where Inland Pacific Ballet is Company in Residence. With a seating capacity of 2,400, this awe-inspiring venue is located on the beautiful campus of Pomona College. Bridges opened in 1931 and for 80 years has played host to celebrated international stars in music, theater and dance.

"The Other Side" a revivifying new contemporary ballet by Stephanie Orza and the Inland Pacific Ballet

A mysterious vampire rules over a haunting group of beautiful undead spirits, and a swan maiden under a spell is torn between her black swan and white swan personalities. Expressing the struggle between good and evil is the theme as Inland Pacific Ballet opens their 17th season with an evening featuring selected scenes from its inspired adaptation of Bram Stoker's famous novel that brings Count Dracula eerily to life along with scenes from Swan Lake featuring the infamous Black Swan and her elusive White Swan counterpart. Jonathan Sharp returns to the stage to recreate his brilliant performance as the alluring but sinister Count Dracula, and the elegant and sensual dual role of the Black Swan/White Swan will be danced by Allynne Noelle. Powerful choreography, spectacular sets, beautiful costumes and dramatic musical scores come together to create a gothic atmosphere for scenes from these compelling ballets and more. A perfect Halloween treat!
