Tyler began his training at Ballet Austin on full scholarship. Upon relocating to California, he continued his year round training at Inland Pacific Ballet Academy. Tyler furthered his studies at Ballet West and the University of Utah, both on full scholarship. He was a member of Utah Ballet for two years where he performed various principal roles. In both 2008 and 2009, Tyler was awarded first place in classical and contemporary in the Youth American Grand Prix semi finals. In 2008, he was awarded the "grand prix" award. Tyler was also ranked in the top 20 male dancers internationally, both years at the New York City final round. This is Tyler's first season with Inland Pacific Ballet.
