Meilu Zhai started dancing at age four and graduated from the Beijing Dance Academy with a degree in Performance Ballet and Ballet Education. Zhai danced for the National Ballet of China for eight years, with leading roles in Firebird, Carmen> and In the Middle, Somewhere Elevated. Zhai has performed on some of the world's premiere stages, including the Paris Opera House, Royal Opera House in London, and the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. In her time with the National Ballet of China, Zhai worked with prominent choreographers such as Roland Petite, Natalia Makarova and instructors from the Hamburg Ballet, Stuttgart Ballet, and Paris Opera. Zhai is now a principal dancer with Inland Pacific Ballet. Meilu is a native Mandarin speaker and lives in Montclair, CA.
