Chanel Tekin


Chanel began training at Redlands Festival Ballet at age 3 with Cecilia Herring. As a young student she performed in productions such as Don Quixote, Cinderella and Paquita. For 2 years she attended the Summer Intensive Program with American Ballet Theatre in Orange County and performed soloist roles at the end of summer performances. Chanel began competing in YAGP at age 8 and has placed top 12 in both classical and contemporary categories. In her senior year of high school she traveled to New York to compete in the finals for a duet contemporary piece. At 18, she began dancing professionally at Inland Pacific Ballet performing in the Nutcracker, Cinderella and excerpts from Swan Lake and Dracula. Chanel moved to Irvine to study in the dance department at the University of California, Irvine to further her knowledge of classical and modern dance and the values it contributes to the world of dance, all the while expanding on her technique and artistic style. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine arts in Performance in 2015. While living in Irvine, Chanel taught ballet classes at Visions Dance Company for students ages 8-18. The same year she completed her Pilates certification and started working at Equinox as a private Pilates Instructor. In addition to returning to dance with IPB this season, Chanel is now on the faculty at IPB Academy as an instructor in the Pilates program.
